Chisel is the strength class, and it is honest about the second reason most people lift. Every block is built on one main lift, barbell or dumbbell, squat, press, hinge or pull, programmed so the load climbs from session to session. The accessory work that follows it is chosen to build muscle rather than to add numbers to the log. Powerbuilding, if you want the word for it.
It is the counterweight to the HYROX classes. Engine, Sprint and Complete train the engine; Chisel trains the strength and the muscle underneath it. Most people here do both, which is the entire point of a hybrid gym.
It runs across two rooms:
The Floor Main lifts on the class floor: barbells, dumbbells, the rig. Heavy, coached, and written down so you can see it climbing.
The PT Lab Accessories move next door. Pulleys, leg press, leg extension and curl, dumbbells to 40kg. The isolation work that free weights alone can't cover.
Is This Bodybuilding?
Half of it. Powerlifting organises everything around getting the main lifts heavier; bodybuilding organises everything around building specific muscles. Chisel takes the progressive main lift from one and the accessory volume from the other, so a block builds strength and shape at the same time.
Chisel or Personal Training?
Chisel is a class: a programme that works for most people, coached, twelve at a time. The PT Lab is one plan written for one body: an injury to work around, a race date, a specific goal on a specific deadline. If you want to lift properly without booking a private session to do it, this is the one.
